The released vehicle, "GR86 Cup Car Basic" is for a base vehicle which can be used for developping as a vehicle to participate in motorsports race, particularly for the one-make race "Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86 / BRZ Cup" scheduled to be held from 2022.

The one-make race by the predecessor model Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ has been held since 2013, and it is gaining popularity from amateur to professional racers because it is a race with a vehicle with a license plate that can run on public roads. Since the model was fully remodeled in 2021 to become GR86 / BRZ, a one-make race with a new model vehicle will be held in 2022. The "GR86 Cup Car Basic" retains the concept from "racing" based on the Toyota 86, but it is equipped with parts such as roll cages and eyebolts for competition seat belts required for racing, as a package. On the other hand, seats and wheels that can be modified according to the user's preference will be provided at a reasonable vehicle price by limiting the equipment to low-priced specifications.
